Samsung has launched its Galaxy Tab S range of tablets in India. The 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch tablets are now available for pre-order and will hit the stores in mid-July. The specifications are well known, but for refreshing, just a quick recap. Both the tablets are nearly identical except for the screen size. The tablets features a Super AMOLED display with WQXGA resolution (2560×1600 pixels) that translates into 288ppi for the 10.5-inch variant and 359ppi for the 8.4-inch variant.

One of the key factor in the tablets is the fingerprint scanner that is integrated into the home button. They are powered by 1.3GHz Exynos 5 octa-core chipset (quad-core 1.9GHz Cortex-A15 cores and quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores) along with 3GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. You will also find an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. The software that runs the show is the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat, wrapped under Samsung’s Magazine UI.

The tablets comes with pre-loaded apps like Milk Audio, Papergarden, Samsung WatchON and Sidesync 3.0 among others. The SideSync app allows Tab S to communicate with a nearby Galaxy S5 over Wi-FI Direct. The prices for 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch tablets are Rs 37,800 and Rs 44,800 respectively.
