The world’s first “cloud first” Android phone, the Nextbit Robin, is going to enter India. The company announced that it plans to launch the Robin in May 2016. The phone currently costs $400 (approx. Rs. 28,000) in the US, and no pricing for India is available at the moment. The company was founded by Tim Moss, CEO and Mike Chan, CTO, who worked for the Android team at Google.

While the Nextbit Robin has a 5.2 inch FHD display and 3GB of RAM, it’s USP is in the fact that the phone uses cloud storage. 32GB of internal storage on the Robin, you can keep all of your data on the cloud and use it on the phone at any time. This could be a problem for Indian users, plagued with poor connectivity.

The Nextbit Robin runs on the Snapdragon 808 SoC from Qualcomm, and has 13MP and 5MP cameras on the back and front.
