There are apps that are free, and sometimes you might be wondering, why would any developer give an app away for free when they can easily charge money for it, especially if it is a very popular and useful app. When it comes to free apps, ads are one way that developers can make money from it.

However sometimes ads in apps can be annoying and disruptive and can ruin the experience, which is why Google has started to make notes in the Google Play Store on apps that come with ads. The note is placed next to the warning that the app also comes with in-app purchases. The labeling was a requirement for apps that are part of Google’s Designed for Families program, but it looks like it has started to roll out to all apps that might contain ads.
