Facebook has crossed 100 million active users in India. This makes it the second country after United States to cross this milestone. Facebook’s vice-president of growth & analytics, Javier Olivan told that this milestone was crossed on March 31. He added that the next milestone is to cross the 1 billion user mark in India. The company has also revealed that 84 million of its 100 million users in India access the social networking site from their mobile devices.

Currently, US is the biggest market for Facebook, with about 183 million users. Olivan also notes that growing from 10 million to 100 million users is about improving experience on low-end devices and offering it in regional languages. The company has also tied up with telecom companies to increase adoption among users in emerging markets like India. So it might not take long for India to overtake US.
