Fake news are all over and Facebook is facing issues with fakes news crisis since last year. Company has announced several initiatives to tackle this menace. Today company has rolling out its latest “trust indicator” tool to find and promote authentic, fact-based articles shared on Facebook.
Trust indicators, will check all the fact about the news shared on Facebook such as, information about publishers including their policies on ethics, fact-checking, and corrections, as well as their ownership structure and their masthead. Facebook will begin rolling out with a small group of publishers and expand over time.
“We believe that helping people access this important contextual information can help them evaluate if articles are from a publisher they trust, and if the story itself is credible,” Facebook said in a statement.
